About
I worked in the field of education as a school social worker and then a Special Education teacher for nineteen years. Now I have the joy of creating unique items with my hands.
Dani Rae Crafts is a very small operation out of a very small studio in Clintonville. I sew, stitch, paint, and print — mostly in small batches, sometimes as one-offs. Everything here passes through my hands twice: once to make, once to pack.

How I got here
I spent a long time teaching second grade — long enough to know which kids stuck glue sticks together so the money (Enter's, every time). I started making pouches and cards for my classroom, then for friends, then for strangers at a holiday market. The shop grew out of that slowly, on weekends.
I still teach — art, part-time, at a small studio in German Village. Making is the rest.
A few things I believe
- Small runs are big batches.
- Boring materials, done well.
- If I wouldn't keep it, I won't sell it.
- Shipping should be honest, not a surprise.
